A chance meeting and subsequent conversation with the visionary mastermind and distinguished professor, Dr. Eloy Rodriguez, at the register of the Rizzoli bookstore I was working at jumpstarted my foray into art-making as a commissioned artist just after college. I was sent to Mexico, and New Mexico to research native Amerindian healing methods, focusing on medicinal plants, in order to write a series of children’s stories on that theme.
